BRUNITO SALSA BEGINNING & TODAY
Initiating from a Hot Latin background infused with passion and happiness at every part of my day-to-day life, helped me to appreciate and feel Latin culture at its roots, be it the language, music, dance or even food.
Growing up in England I was pleasantly surprised to find an increasing interest in Latin American culture. I was asked more and more to show sexy Latin moves or to play various Latino beats at the parties.
Later on I was introduced to Carlos from Salsa Entertainment in Nottingham. Together we advanced in various Latin dancing styles (Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton, Cha-cha-cha and Cumbia) that enhanced my dancing and teaching techniques as well as it enabled me to distinguish the various styles, rhythms, steps and dances.
Starting with the Colombian style (where the pause is filled with a tap), I quickly progressed to the Cuban style (which is well known for its complicated turns and arm movements) and LA (Los Angeles) style (an athletic one that infuses a dance with complex lifts and dips). The latter one I mostly use for my shows and performances, while finally, the New York style helped me with my posture and elegance.
Through my experience and understanding of the salsa dancing, my knowledge is reflected by my students as they progress from class to class. At my consistently popular events held in Chesterfield and Mansfield I regularly partner with the Salsa Entertainment from Nottingham and Latino Beats from Sheffield, which are also well known teachers in the region. |
